Home Equity Line of Credit (HELOC)

Put the equity you have built in your home to work — a flexible line of credit for business investment, debt consolidation, improvements, and major expenses.

What is a HELOC?

Access the equity in your home as a flexible line of credit.

A home equity line of credit lets qualifying owners borrow against the equity in their property. You draw funds as you need them, up to an approved limit, and repay based on the structure you select — making it a versatile source of capital for business and personal objectives alike.

How much could I borrow?

Adjust your home value and remaining mortgage balance to estimate the equity you may be able to access.

How it works

How does a HELOC work with Kapstone?

A straightforward, mostly online process designed to move quickly — from checking your rate to accessing funds.

01

Complete a 100% online application

No in-person appraisal needed on eligible loans under $400,000, and checking your rate with prequalification won’t affect your credit score.¹ You’ll see HELOC options for eligible properties held solely, jointly, in a revocable trust, or by an LLC.

02

Approval in minutes, funding in as few as 5 days

Eligible applicants can borrow from $15,000 to $750,000 with a one-time origination fee.² Easy online notary services are available in most locations, with expert support throughout.

03

Option to redraw up to 100%

As you pay down your balance, you have the option to take additional draws up to 100% of your original line — so capital is there when the next opportunity is.³

  1. 1 Prequalification uses a soft credit inquiry that does not affect your credit score. A hard inquiry may occur if you proceed with an application.
  2. 2 Loan amounts, funding times, and origination fees depend on the property, your profile, and lender approval. Amounts and timelines shown are examples, not guarantees.
  3. 3 Redraw availability depends on your specific line and its terms.

FAQ

Common questions about HELOCs.

Have a question that isn't answered here? An advisor can walk you through your options.

A home equity line of credit (HELOC) is a revolving line of credit secured by the equity in your home — the difference between your property value and what you still owe on your mortgage. You can draw on the line as needs arise, up to an approved limit, and repay over time based on the structure you select.

Borrowing power generally depends on your home value, your remaining mortgage balance, your credit profile, and the lender’s maximum combined loan-to-value. The calculators on this page provide an illustrative estimate only. Actual amounts are subject to qualification, underwriting, and lender approval.

Rates are influenced by factors such as your credit profile, combined loan-to-value, property type, and the repayment term you choose. The estimate shown here is for planning purposes and is not an offer or quote. Your advisor can help you understand the factors that apply to your situation.

Yes. A HELOC is secured by your home, which is what allows it to offer competitive terms compared with unsecured options. Because your property secures the line, it is important to borrow thoughtfully and understand your repayment obligations.

Timelines depend on your documentation, the property, and lender review. Our team works to keep the process organized and to communicate clearly at each stage. We do not guarantee specific approval or funding timelines.

An initial review can often be conducted without a hard credit inquiry. If you move forward with a specific option, a lender may request a credit check as part of underwriting. Your advisor will explain what to expect beforehand.
